The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark is a 1995 book by astrophysicist Carl Sagan. The book explores the scientific method and critical thinking with the intent to discern between true science and pseudoscience. Sagan provides a skeptical analysis towards subjects such as aliens, pseudoscience, religion and gods.

The book contains an often quoted section about claim of a dragon in a garage. In the story, every test that the dragon exists fails and Sagan asks what is the difference between an unobservable dragon and an non-existent dragon.
