Textus Receptus was compiled by Erasmus in 1516 as a source for his translation of the Bible into Latin. While versions of this text have been used as source material for many Bible translations, including the King James Version, scholars have questioned the reliability and diversity of his sources and many new Biblical translation rely on a wider range of source material.

This was the first Greek-language, New Testament printed on a printing press.
