What's described in this article is Posthumanism, not Transhumanism.

Transhumanism relates to using current and future technology to extend the life span and improve abilities of humans as we are today. Posthumanism, as the "post-" part of the word implies, relates to a more distant future, where technology has allowed us to go beyond the human race, to the point where such an individual would no longer be considered a member of our species. The two are related, but far from synonymous.

If no one objects, I will go ahead and correct this within the next few days.
