It'd be neat if someone could come up with a list of passages that pose particular problems for literalists. For instance, in the Isaiah passage quoted, some people (like Kent Hovind) claim that this refers to the expansion of the universe (though how the words "like a canopy" and "like a tent" fit the metaphor isn't clear).
