Talk:Biblical literalism

From Iron Chariots Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

It'd be neat if someone could come up with a list of passages that pose particular problems for literalists. For instance, in the Isaiah passage quoted, some people (like Kent Hovind) claim that this refers to the expansion of the universe (though how the words "like a canopy" and "like a tent" fit the metaphor isn't clear).

No one is a literalist?

The text says: ..."while it is easy to disprove biblical literalism, no one believes it anymore."

This is factually untrue. Of course biblical literalists exist.--Bob M 14:52, 13 July 2014 (CDT)

I think this is just a simplification for the purposes of the wiki. It probably should be clarified. I prefer using direct quotes, particularly for apologists. --Tim Sheerman-Chase 16:59, 13 July 2014 (CDT)
