Talk:Authoritarian Indoctrination

The current version sets off my baloney-meter. It gives the impression that Fred Phelps-style authoritarian households are the norm.

The third paragraph contains a dubious assertion. At the very least, it ought to be rephrased and sourced. (And "May God have mercy on their souls" is gratuitous.)

The "Counter apologetics" section, aside from being misnamed, is gratuitously insulting and ought to be rewritten.

All in all, if I didn't know better, I'd say we were being trolled. --Arensb 10:30, 23 March 2007 (CDT)

Agreed. I'm editing this now. Sans Deity 12:20, 23 March 2007 (CDT)

I'm a little disappointed by this response to my page. I admit it may have been a little over the top, but I wasn't sure what you were expecting.

I feel strongly that this perspective is an important part of what you are trying to do. I am certainly NOT a troll, but I deliberately made that somewhat ambiguous, to both provide some humour and the naive hope I might plant a seed of doubt for the visiting faithful.

I would still like to contribute to your cause, could you please offer some guidelines on how this page could be reinstated? --601 21:00, 23 March 2007 (PDT)

I can't claim to speak for the administrators, but I think I gave some constructive advice above, as did User:Sans Deity on the Talk:Apologetics page. Basically, research the topic, turn down the flamage, and let the facts speak for themselves. --Arensb 18:20, 25 March 2007 (CDT)
