On the last note, about polytheism, is that really a valid argument against considering that the point isn't that 'all Gods are the same God', but rather 'all Gods are aspects of the same God'? If you take Greek mythology, God may have a warlike streak in Ares, a romantic streak in Aphrodite which often go hand-in-hand, etc...
