Omnibenevolence, literally meaning "all-goodness", is an attribute often applied to God.

It is sometimes defined as "The quality of always choosing the most morally good option out of several different ones."

Problems with omnibenevolence

If God is defined as being not only omnibenevolent but also omniscient (all-knowing) and omnipotent (all-powerful), then this is one of the foundations for the problem of evil.

Furthermore, defining God as omnibenevolent contradicts the numerous Old Testament verses in which he orders genocide and murder, as well as Isaiah 45:7 Bible-icon.png in which God says, "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these." (emphasis added).

Out of the numbered deaths in the Bible, YHWH kills 2,391,421 people. Satan only killed the 10 of Jobs family.
