Non-canonical books, sometimes called, "Apocrypha" and incorrectly even, "deuterocanonical," are all the books not accepted by the Catholic church as inspired by god or by other faith communities as authoritative. However, just what is considered "inspired," and "authoritative," has been hotly debated among Cristian and Jewish scholars. This is why there is variety among what books are included in different version of the bible.
