The Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy was a controversy in which Danish cartoonists published cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad. Due to Muslim law which forbids depictions of Muhammad, there was a great uproar over the publication. This uproar eventually led to riots and death threats towards the cartoonists.
