In order to protect a page from vandalism and other kinds of undesirable edits, the MediaWiki software provides two possible remedies (apart from page reversion, after the fact):
- Protection: Limiting editing of a page to administrators only.
- Semi-protection: Limiting editing of a page to registered users only.
The exact policies under which a page at this wiki can/should be protected or unprotected (actions which can only be performed by administrators) have not been worked out yet.
