An interwiki map is a list of "shortcuts" that enables the editors of a wiki to use simple "internal style" wikilinks to link to specific pages on external wikis or other websites, provided that those sites have a predictable URL format. For further background information, please see Wikipedia:InterWiki.
Our interwiki map
- Full interwiki map — This list mostly matches the default interwiki map provided by the MediaWiki software; if you are already familiar with interwiki links from another MediaWiki-based wiki (e.g., Wikipedia), most links should work the same way here.
- List of our changes to the default interwiki map — For the convenience of users already familiar with MediaWiki's default interwiki map, we provide this much shorter list (reproduced below) containing only the changes we've made to that default list.
- Interwiki requests — Use this page to request additions, deletions, or other modifications to our current interwiki map.
Usage
General format:
- [[:SitePrefix:Target page]]
- SitePrefix is completely case insensitive while Target page is not (it usually must match the target page exactly). The first colon (:) is optional and should only be needed if the link is not properly interpreted as an in-line interwiki link. (This might happen, for example, if we set up different language wikis for this site and SitePrefix matches one of the language codes used; see Wikipedia:Interlanguage links for more information about this.)
Specific examples:
- [[:wikiquote:Einstein]] appears as wikiquote:Einstein and links to http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Einstein
- [[:wikiquote:Einstein|]] appears as Einstein and links to the same location
