Argument from Old Book
This is just a dressed up version of the argument from authority. It states that just because a belief is old and has lasted a long time, that it is trustworthy: this is unreliable, as can be demonstrated if you imagine that you live centuries ago, when the long-held belief was that the Sun revolved around the Earth or other such things. Racism and sexism are at least as old as the books suggested, yet few people would say that they had to be correct. Furthermore, it is notable that many apologists are essentially arguing for a different book than the old version of that book. The Bible has had a whole New Testament added to it, in addition to the variety of translations and interpretations.
